Hanshi Myron Lubitsch, 9th Dan, Head of the Shorinjiryu Shizen Kyokai

 

Hanshi Myron Lubitsch, 9th Dan is the Head of the Shorinjiryu Shizen Kyokai, an international organization based in New York, USA dedicated to the promotion of Shorinjiryu Karatedo with member schools within the Shorinjiryu system throughout the world and currently considered the largest gathering of independent Shorinjiryu schools.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York Hanshi Lubitsch began his martial arts career in 1968. He attained the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt) in 1972 and Go-dan (5th degree black belt) in 1982 and later Kyudan, 9th dan in 2008. In 1985, he was named Director of Koshiki for the USA. In 1987, he was recognized as Go-dan by the World Karate Federation. In 1988, he co-founded the Shorinjiryu Shinzen Kyokai.

Hanshi Lubitsch is the recipient of numerous Budo and civil awards over the years including: Appreciation awards, Leadership awards, Master of the Year Award (USA Martial Arts), Civil citations and Proclamation from the US House of Representatives.

Hanshi Lubitsch is also a keen referee making himself available each year at the annual gathering of the Shorinjiryu family during the Kyokai annual event in Brooklyn, New York as well as dedicating himself to assisting at numerous international tournaments and training camps for which he travels internationally in promoting Shorinjiryu.
